How to tell my mom that she should use antifungal cream ?

OK this may sound rude but I really don't think it is, because ok my mom has a fungus problem on her fingernails and toenails and it looks like they are going to fall off, it is really disturbing. And she doesn't do anything about it and i think that a lot of people notice it and my dad even thinks its kind of gross but she don't take him seriouslty because he is always an a-hole. I mean all she has to do is get antifungal cream right? The problem is that I don't know how to say that without coming off as a jerk, please try to understand that I am only trying to benefit her because she is my mom. Help? How to tell my mom that she should use antifungal cream ?
Maybe your mother is aware that the over the counter anti-fungal creams aren't worth the money she would spend on them. Nail fungus is not always easy to cure and a person can sometimes spend hundreds of dollars on medication and and doctor visits and still not be completely cured.

You might try telling her you heard of some good stuff that would help her nails, but if she hasn't done anything about it so far, there is probably a reason. Most women are pretty self conscious about their nails and try to keep them as healthy as possible, so I suspect there is something else going on with your mom that you may not be aware of. If your dad is as bad as you say, she could be depressed and just not give hoot, which is another issue that needs to be dealt with. Deal with her gently and maybe she will take notice or at least tell you why she hasn't done something about her nails already. How to tell my mom that she should use antifungal cream ?
Is it possible that she doesn't know that there is a cream or ointment that can help her? If so, then you would be helping her out a lot by telling her about them. You might even ask a pharmacist to recommend a really good one and buy it for her.

Also, some nail fungus doesn't respond to topical ointments or creams. In that case she should go to her dr. and they can prescribe an oral pill for her that will get rid of it.

You sound like a loving and caring daughter.
I think ur a great daughter, but the problem may be from within, try the cream first, and if that doesn't work, you may need to have your mom see a Dr.
Tell her you saw some cream at the drug store that would be of help to her. Tell her you wouldn't want it to spread. Then mention that skin eating bacteria going around , like staph infections. Serious stuff.
Just tell her, I mean after all she is your Mother and I know she will not be offended.
Maybe you could get her some of the cream and just tell her that you know it is very helpful to use it on her nails - nonchalantly. It doesn't have to be a big deal. Just tell her that you noticed that she might have a use for it and that you picked some up for her because you know that she is always looking after other people and may not have time to take care of herself. I don't know if this is true; but just be nice about it and take it upon yourself to do something ';nice'; for her. :) She will not take too much offense at it. Even if she is a *little* embarrassed, she will get over it very quickly. She loves you and I don't think that it will be too bad.
