Okay, I have/had a yeast infection, and I did one of the three-day OTC treatments. It's being treated with the generic WalMart brand, 200 mg suppository with a vulvar cream to relieve itch and irritation.
While the pain, discomfort, and other YI related things have cleared up, I've noticed that it is extremely dry and sensitive to the touch in my vaginal area. I've also noticed some chafing.
I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that this is not an STD. Please do not say things along those lines.
Could this be a reaction to the medication? Has anyone else had something similar happen?
My first step after this will be to call my mom and ask her what she thinks it is. If it's still bothering me tomorrow, I'm going to call my doctor. This question is simply to put my mind at ease and help me so I'm prepared with information if I DO end up at the doctor's.Reaction to antifungal cream?
The thing with medications that you get is that everyone is different and not everything will suit each person. I think it is very likely that you have a reaction to the cream, especially if it is just a supermarket cream. Depending what is in the cream it can make your vaginal area dry.
I would suggest going to the pharmacy and seeing what they recommend before going to the doctors - it is probebly just the type of cream.
The other thing you can use and I know this will sound strange is yoghurt. Yoghurt is a remedy my doctor advised me to use when I was younger and it did work! This will also prevent your vagina from drying up.Reaction to antifungal cream?
